Whether you are planning a weekend getaway or looking for something unique to do near Lexington, the event calendar is designed to surprise and delight.
This summer, The Kentucky Castle celebrates its property-grown lavender with our Seventh-Annual Lavender Festival.
Guests can handpick fresh lavender bundles from the fields and learn about its everyday uses. The festival includes market vendors, live music, food, and Farm Enrichment Activities such as Intro to Beekeeping and Growing Lavender.
Workshops in the Grand Ballroom offer add-on experiences, including a DIY Lavender Sachet Bar, a Make Your Own Perfume Bar, and DIY Essential Oil-Infused Bath Salts. Saturday is Family Day, featuring face painting, a scavenger hunt, and princess visits for younger guests.
Tickets include one handpicked lavender bundle, lavender lemonade, access to vendors, food and beverage vendors, and entrance to farm activities.
The Lavender Festival has become one of The Kentucky Castle’s signature seasonal events and a highlight of summer in Kentucky.
On June 27th, Lavender Nights carries the celebration into the evening with a rooftop gathering at The Kentucky Castle. As the sun begins to set, guests can take in sweeping countryside views surrounded by soft lavender accents that reflect the season.
The evening begins with a welcome cocktail upon arrival, followed by appetizers and access to a full cash bar throughout the night. A live DJ keeps the energy high, creating space to mingle, dance, and simply enjoy being on the rooftop as daylight fades into evening. Curated photo opportunities throughout the event provide the perfect backdrop to capture the moment and remember the night.
Some evenings at The Kentucky Castle are anything but ordinary. Select event nights combine interactive entertainment with curated dining for a full immersive experience.
Guests can create their own
Signature Perfume for Mother’s Day, selecting scents and building a personalized 20-mL bottle to take home. The evening includes a charcuterie table, tea sandwiches, desserts, and a glass of champagne while you craft your one-of-a-kind fragrance.
The Kentucky Castle also hosts ticketed Murder Mystery Dinners in the Grand Ballroom. Produced by the Murder & Merriment theater team, rotating shows such as “Traitors & Murder” and “Murder at the Grand Ole Opry” invite guests to follow clues and solve the mystery over a multi-course dinner. One lucky guest who correctly identifies the culprit wins a gift card to The Kentucky Castle.
With thoughtful menus and interactive entertainment, these evenings offer playful suspense and a memorable night out in a setting unlike anywhere else in Kentucky.
The Kentucky Castle regularly partners with Kentucky Bourbon Influencers (KBI) to host curated Bourbon Pairing Dinners in the Grand Ballroom. These ticketed evenings highlight featured distilleries such as Peerless Distillery and are designed for guests who appreciate a thoughtfully guided tasting experience.
The evening begins with passed appetizers before guests settle in for a four-course dinner paired with cocktails and neat pours featuring five different Peerless spirits. Past menus have included dishes like pork tenderloin with apricot bourbon glaze and seasonal salads, each course intentionally matched to complement the flavor profile of the spirits being poured.
For bourbon enthusiasts seeking a refined night out in Versailles, Kentucky these KBI dinners at The Kentucky Castle offer a focused, immersive experience in a setting that feels both intimate and elevated.
The Kentucky Castle’s Grand Ballroom transforms into a storybook setting for themed tea parties featuring beloved princess characters. At Ariel’s Tea Party, there are two seatings, and guests of all ages are welcome for tea and brunch in the Grand Ballroom. Families can linger after their seating to explore the property, making it more than just a meal but a full royal experience.
Each guest must have a ticket, and seating is arranged to accommodate shared tables. These events provide a welcoming, family-friendly way to experience The Kentucky Castle beyond traditional dining.
For something playful and memorable,
Goat Yoga on The Farm brings guests outdoors for a beginner-friendly class surrounded by the teaching farm setting. Classes are capped at 25 participants to ensure a positive experience for both guests and the goats. In warmer months, yoga takes place in the paddocks, with the white barn serving as a backup location in case of inclement weather. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably for athletic activities and bring a yoga mat or towel suitable for an outdoor farm environment.
Goats are brought into the paddock once class begins, and yes, they may hop onto your mat. After class, guests have time to meet and take photos with our beloved farm animal friends. Goat Yoga is open to beginners and makes for a perfect adventure on its own or paired with other tour, spa, and dining experiences.
Many guests turn a single event into a full Castle experience.
