March 5 - Truffle Dinner and Lecture
Time & Location
About The Event
European Truffle Cultivation Lecture, Dinner, and Workshop
$2000 per pound! That's the current market rate of Black Perigord Truffles. If you've ever had one, then you understand why. It still doesn't mean you'd pay that, but what if you could grow them yourself?!? Did you know Kentucky has a perfect climate for growing them?
Come to The Kentucky Castle on March 5th or 6th and learn how. The Kentucky Castle will be planting trees inoculated with 4 different varieties of European truffles over the next several years, and the very first trees go into the ground on March 5th.
You're invited to come hear Dr. Charles LeFevre, PHD teach about the incredible science behind producing this very rare culinary treat. He will be in town on Monday only, helping us get the trees into the ground.
You have two options:
1. Truffle dinner and lecture with Dr. LeFevre. Of course there will be a truffle component. Only a few tickets available.
2. Join us in the Ballroom for a lecture by Dr. Lefevre.
Truffle tree planting - March 6th 1-5pm - With purchase of the Truffle dinner you have the option of coming out and helping us plant and learn hands on.
Truffle lecture - 6pm
Truffle dinner - 7:30pm
